Location: Washington, DC

Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Institute has a campus in Aspen, Colorado, and an international network of partners.

The Network of International Partners consists of 12 international partners operating in 15 countries – with 8 partners in Europe, and in India, Japan, Mexico, and New Zealand. The international partners are on the front lines to spark intellectual inquiry and respond to the need for civil discourse in their societies. Aspen’s international partners create as a global community of leaders committed to the greater good and elevate non-partisan dialogue to address the world’s biggest challenges. Each partner is independently funded and operated, and while each partner possesses their own unique programs and initiatives, across the network partners collaborate on mutual areas of importance.

Position duties are as follows. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Liaise with IP points of contact to facilitate and respond to partner inquiries (connections to relevant public and policy programs, speaker ideas, etc.)
  • Assist Director with communication to the International Committee Chair and Executive Vice President on partner activities and prepare talking points for the IC Chair and EVP as needed
  • Prepare quarterly updates, slideshow presentations, and board books on International Partners for the Senior Executive Team and Board of Trustees
  • Design the IP Global Briefing, sent every Tuesday, through the curation of content, events, and announcements to share with the Aspen and international network 
  • Promote partner content through social media, including managing the International Partners Twitter account by tweeting/ retweeting partner events and announcements daily
  • Process funds to the International Partners network and ensure appropriate financial paperwork/protocols are in place for distribution to partners
  • Enhance IP external communications such as presentations, decks, and one-pagers, using graphic design and writing skills to increase the visual impact of all IP comms assets
  • Oversee the International Partners YouTube Playlist by coordinating with the digital team to ensure fresh videos and content are uploaded  
  • Assist with diversity, inclusion, and outreach strategies to fulfill Aspen’s mission and commitment to having diverse and inclusive programming
  • Support new international partners by tailoring orientation packets and welcome letters to the Chair and Director
  • Research possible donors and draft proposals for prospective funders of cross-network projects
  • Organize the IP server and SharePoint consistently, and ensure contact lists are up-to-date
  • Assist with the NextGen Network, sponsored by Microsoft. This includes:
  • Draft correspondence and respond to inquiries
  • Plan meetings, coordinate schedules, and send calendar invites
  • Create application forms and materials
  • Oversee and post announcements in the LinkedIn group
  • Organize webinars and recruit speakers
  • Send NextGen funds to the participating partners 
  • Assist with planning for the annual Spring IC Meeting in a partner country and Fall IC Meeting in New York. This includes:
    • Develop meeting agendas, materials, and talking points
    • Work with partners and speakers on logistics
    • Ensure follow-up activities
  • Work with the legal team to ensure MOUs and licensing agreements are up to date with new and existing partners

  • Collaborate with the communications team at Aspen to design and update the International Partners website with currents events and news from partners, and develop cohesive website design across the network of partners

Hours: 20 hours/week; Position is hybrid.

Qualifications. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and/or attributes:

  • Currently in a relevant undergraduate or graduate course of study
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with emphasis on time-management, attention to detail and the ability to plan, organize, and carry out multiple activities
  • Strong communication and writing skills, including ability to conduct online research and analysis
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Team player who can also work individually and be a self-starter
  • Knowledge of and adherence to professional ethics
