Program Coordinator - Business & Society Program

Department: BSP
Location: New York, NY

The Aspen Institute is a global nonprofit organization committed to realizing a free, just, and equitable society. Founded in 1949, the Institute drives change through dialogue, leadership, and action to help solve the most important challenges facing the United States and the world. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Institute has a campus in Aspen, Colorado, maintains offices in New York City, and has an international network of partners.

The Aspen Institute Business and Society Program (Aspen BSP) is dedicated to aligning business decisions with the long-term health of society. Established in 1998 and building on over 60 years of Aspen Institute programming, Aspen BSP helps established and emerging business leaders put values at the heart of practice and builds their capacity to tackle society’s greatest challenges.  Amid greater calls for a more inclusive, sustainable and stakeholder-oriented capitalism, Aspen BSP’s change efforts are centered around elevating examples of business practice, business models, decision rules and incentive systems that result in better outcomes for employees, environments, and communities. One of Aspen BSP’s essential initiatives is grounded in the belief that business school faculty – through their teaching, research and consulting – are powerful actors in setting the tone in corporations and preparing the next generation of business leadership.  Through a portfolio of programs such as the Ideas Worth Teaching Awards and the Undergraduate Consortium, we highlight exemplary teaching and support faculty who are re-orienting business classrooms towards long-term value creation in pursuit of a more just, sustainable, and inclusive world.
