THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate emerging leader to help drive the collective impact of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. The role works in service of the AGLN Fellowship teams to ensure cross-network learning, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strong operations. The Program Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager- Impact Strategy & Operations. This role will touch all key programmatic areas of the AGLN, including domestic and international convenings, the venture and evaluation portfolio, communications, and data management.

As an AGLN Team, we are committed to holistically developing as leaders. As such, this role will begin at the Program Coordinator level, with a clear path to promotion after the first 12-18 months.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Management (25%)

  • Generalist support: as team is built, support with data gathering, stakeholder coordination, scheduling for the VP and other team members as needed, and documentation/follow-up. Support the operational infrastructure for the team and its core functions.

AGLN Network Programs (25%)

Learning & Connectivity of Fellowship Programs

  • Support and execute year-round learning opportunities and AGLN communities of practice that convene Fellowship staff regularly to share Fellowship best practices and processes (ex: Collective Impact & Collaboration, Venture Design & Support, Seminar Execution, Nomination and Selection of Fellows, Salesforces, Communications etc.)
  • Support the bi-annual AGLN Advisory Council meeting with all Fellowship Programs, including the development of goals and the agenda with the AGLN VP and Senior Manager, communication to and feedback from AGLN Fellowship programs, planning and logistics as well as on-site and/or virtual execution of the meeting.
  • Support and maintain robust knowledge sharing platforms and training tools to ensure strong operations across AGLN Fellowship programs.
  • Support the execution and planning for Fellowship Program Directorsí monthly meetings.

Support to Fellowship Programs

  •  Plan, support, and staff Fellowship Program seminars as needed.
  •  Support and train local Fellowship staff on seminar-related planning and activities, Fellowship nomination and selection process.

Community Impact & Engagement (50%)

Ventures

  •  Support the Divisionís Systems team and Fellowship programs to review and refresh approach to ventures.
  • Support and on-board Fellowship coordinators/managers on seminar and leadership venture processes and documented best practices.

Impact Evaluation

  • Support monitoring and evaluation of impact strategy.
  • Support and on-board Fellowship coordinators/managers on evaluation processes and documented best practices, as aligned to the AGLN impact framework.
  • Collaborate with the communications department to share insights from impact portfolio.

Community Engagement and Storytelling

  • Lead sourcing, development, and execution of stories for the AGLN website and newsletter to highlight areas of strategic importance for the AGLN: global perspectives; collaboration and collective action; DEI; AGLN impact framework; etc.
  • Communicate with external and international Fellowships to increase greater connectivity with the AGLN and the Aspen Institute. Encourage increased participation in featuring their Fellows in AGLN newsletter and storytelling efforts.

Partnership & Impact Support

  • Support the operational back end of partnership work - eventually coordinating partnership subaward payment processes to AGLN Fellows (e.g., McNulty; Braddock; Mastercard), management of contracts for review through Due Diligence Review; submit OFAC checks through Due Diligence Review, etc.

Data Sharing & Management

  • Support the process for semi-annual data audits & updates for both internal and external Fellowship Programs, with Fellowship Program Teams, (e.g., Fellow contact updates, importing new classes, venture updates, partnership engagements, and the Leadership Divisionís Systems Team.)
  • Support the process of collecting and updating all external Fellowship Program data including Fellow details, seminar information, venture progress, etc.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelorís degree required; 2 years of experience in project management and/or operations, preferably in the nonprofit and/or private sectors, with an emphasis on international projects or international stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and shift priorities quickly.
  • Ability to structure systems and policies to ensure smooth daily program operations with excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills.
  • Experience with a variety of software programs, including Salesforce, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Suite products.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis is a plus to bring together results and examine the findings for patterns of agreement, convergence, divergence, or discrepancy.
  • Ability to work well with staff across seniority levels and a variety of stakeholders, with a willingness to contribute to the team as needed to support the achievement of program goals.
  • Polished, culturally competent interpersonal skills, as well as sound judgment, maturity, and a sense of humor. Ability to handle information with the utmost discretion.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with global groups and or organizations, with an emphasis on convening diverse groups for a shared experience is a plus.
  • Strong interest in and support for the mission of the Aspen Institute and the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
