In 2022, Aspen Digital launched a new Digital Equity Accelerator, with support from HP. This unique initiative supports diverse communities across the world as they work to solve the most pressing issues of digital inequity faced by underserved and marginalized populations. In its first year of operation, the Accelerator will select and provide support to a pilot cohort of six nonprofit organizations from the United States, Morocco, and India who are working on innovative digital equity projects. 

Beginning in June 2022, each cohort member will receive a comprehensive package of support, including:

  • 4 months of virtual mentorship and training, culminating in a final Demo Day

  • More than USD $100,000 cash grant

  • Innovative technology from HP

  • Post-program support

Accelerator Director

The Accelerator Lead will oversee all aspects of the Digital Equity Accelerator and serve as the primary representative for both internal Aspen Digital stakeholders and external partners. In particular, the Lead will manage relationships with members of the Advisory Council, key funders, and Aspen Digital leadership. The Lead will also oversee execution of programming for the pilot cohort, coordination with Accelerator mentors and thought leaders, and support a thorough impact evaluation process throughout the cohort cycle. 

What youíll do:

  • Exceptional programming:: Manage Accelerator staff and consultants to develop and execute a robust 4-month training curriculum for the pilot cohort of 6 organizations from the US, Morocco, and India, followed by demo days and evaluation programming.

  • Network cultivation and growth: Convene Accelerator Advisory Council members to share progress and identify innovative ways to incorporate their diverse experiences. Recruit and manage high-profile stakeholders for the cohortís final Demo Day. Lead engagement with  primary funders, prospective partners, and internal Aspen Digital leadership. 

  • Learning and evolving: Support the development and execution of an impact evaluation strategy for both individual cohort members and the overall Accelerator, and develop a strategic plan for future iterations of the Accelerator cohort based on learnings from the initial pilot.

  • Accelerate the Accelerator: Represent the Accelerator to the media and in public forums. Identify and pursue opportunities to highlight the Acceleratorís work, thought leadership, and cohort members. 

A successful applicant will demonstrate the following qualities: 

  • Deep experience with, understanding of, and/or involvement with social impact incubators/accelerators, especially those with a nonprofit, tech, and/or global focus

  • Track record of leading teams and processes, Able to operate entrepreneurially within an institutional framework  

  • Demonstrated track record of stellar multi-stakeholder engagement and relationship management

  • Keen passion for and understanding of digital equity issues and how underserved communities are diversely impacted 

  • Strong team player/manager possessing the ability to work virtually and across time zones with internal staff, high-level stakeholders, cohort members, and thought leaders
